Learning should be fun. As an educator, my primary goal is to engage student and encourage students to think critically about course content as well as information that goes beyond the course. Every class period, I have the goal of facilitating learning by being enthusiastic about the subject matter and engaging my students. I find that enthusiasm drives my students to think critically and to ask questions, after all, if I’m not excited about the material, why should the students be? I am a biological psychologist; this means that it is my responsibility to help students appreciate the complex role of the brain on behavior. In order to accomplish this, I strive to be enthusiastic, engaging and to create a learner-centered atmosphere in the classroom.
